Since 2012, we have been producing events that move people. What began as a sole proprietorship in a Charlottenburg apartment is now a 14-person team with its own studio in Berlin-Kreuzberg — and projects across four continents.
Our Story
Founded by Nicolai Alexander Jakobs — filmmaker, composer and trained audio/video technician — Jakobs Medien started in 2012 with one student assistant, a single client and a 10 sqm office. Financed from project profits and an EU startup grant, without any external investor.
Today, we are based in the Urbanhöfe at Urbanstraße 116 in Berlin-Kreuzberg — with our own green screen and broadcasting studio facilities. Owner-managed since day one: Nicolai Jakobs remains CEO and creative lead to this day.
Our full-service approach covers the complete workflow: concept development, technical planning, content creation, live production and post-production. Since 2017, we have been training our own apprentices — taking responsibility for the next generation of the event industry.

The Federal Ministry for the Environment (BMU) becomes an event client. Jakobs Medien finds its niche in professional live production.
GmbH & BMU Framework Contract
