EVZ – Live-on-Tape Studio Production
Moderated discussion recorded as live-on-tape for the EVZ Foundation
For the Foundation Remembrance, Responsibility and Future (EVZ), an approximately one-hour moderated discussion was recorded as a live-on-tape production in the studio.
Scope of Services
The recording took place in a non-public, protected studio environment. The moderated discussion was published as a video shortly after recording. The production encompassed full technical support, from studio setup, camera operation, and audio recording through to post-production.
Equipment Used
Multi-camera setup in the studio, professional studio lighting, wireless microphone systems for the moderator and guests, and live directing for the recording.
About the EVZ Foundation
The Foundation Remembrance, Responsibility and Future works to keep the memory of historical injustice alive and to promote human rights, democracy, and civic engagement. Their public discussions often address sensitive topics that require a respectful, carefully managed production environment. For this project, the foundation chose a studio-based live-on-tape format — recorded as if live but in a controlled setting — to ensure the conversation could unfold naturally while maintaining full editorial quality in the final publication.
Why Live-on-Tape Works
The live-on-tape approach offers a middle ground between a fully scripted studio production and an unpredictable live broadcast. The discussion was recorded in a single continuous session, preserving the authenticity and spontaneity of a live conversation. At the same time, the studio environment gave the production team full control over lighting, sound, and camera work, resulting in a polished final product. Minor post-production adjustments — color correction, audio leveling, and the addition of opening and closing graphics — were made before publication, but the core of the recording remained untouched.
The Final Product
The finished video was published shortly after the recording and distributed through the EVZ Foundation’s digital channels. The professional production quality helped the discussion reach a wider audience and lent the important subject matter the visual credibility it deserved. For the foundation, the collaboration with Jakobs Medien provided a reliable, efficient way to produce high-quality video content for their ongoing public communication efforts.
