What you see is what you get: For our 10th anniversary, we treated our guests to a hosted liveshow featuring a company keynote, standup comedy acts, and a panel discussion — all produced in real time with changing mixed-reality sets, seamless transitions from video inserts into live acts, remotely connected speakers, and interactive audience participation.
Showcasing What We Do Best
For a media production company, there is no better calling card than producing your own event at the highest level. To celebrate our tenth anniversary, Jakobs Medien created a hybrid liveshow that combined entertainment, company storytelling, and cutting-edge virtual production technology in a single evening. The goal was to give our guests — clients, partners, and friends — an unforgettable experience while demonstrating the full range of our production capabilities.
How It Came Together
The show was produced live from our studio using mixed-reality technology. Virtual sets changed throughout the evening, transporting the audience from one visual environment to the next without any interruption. Pre-produced video segments were woven seamlessly into the live program, and remote speakers were brought on stage through real-time compositing. A professional host guided the audience through the lineup, which included a company keynote reviewing a decade of growth, standup comedy acts, and a panel discussion on the future of live media. Audience interaction tools allowed both on-site and remote viewers to participate in real time.
What It Proved
The event was a proof of concept as much as a celebration. It showed that mixed-reality production can deliver television-grade quality in a live setting, that hybrid formats can be genuinely entertaining rather than merely functional, and that a small, well-coordinated team can pull off a show that rivals much larger productions. The positive response from attendees confirmed that this approach to live events is exactly where the industry is heading.
