Corporate Film for the Federal Green IT Initiative
Corporate film for the Blue Angel award ceremony on behalf of the BMUKN
For the Federal Ministry for the Environment, a corporate film about the history of the Federal Green IT Initiative was produced. The film portrays the protagonists and pioneers of the initiative with the message: it takes passionate advocates with persistence and a compelling goal.
Scope of Services
The 3–5 minute corporate film in 16:9 format was produced for the Blue Angel award ceremony on June 11, 2025, as well as for permanent online use. During pre-production, a treatment and detailed concept were developed.
Over three shooting days in Berlin and Bonn, interviews and thematic footage were captured with selected protagonists. In post-production, the film was enhanced with approximately 30 seconds of motion graphics and finalized with professional color grading.
Equipment Used
Blackmagic URSA 12K as the main camera with cinema lenses, Sony Alpha 7C as a secondary camera, Aputure LS 300X and LS 60X LED panel lights, professional Sennheiser AVX wireless audio systems and boom microphone. Additionally, a backdrop paper setup and dedicated editing suites with a color grading suite were used.
Additional Formats
In addition to the main film, social media versions in 1:1 and 9:16 formats as well as German subtitles were produced.
The Story Behind the Film
The Federal Green IT Initiative has been working for over a decade to make government IT infrastructure more sustainable and energy-efficient. The corporate film was commissioned to tell the story of that journey — not through statistics and policy documents, but through the people who drove the initiative forward. Jakobs Medien developed a narrative approach that put the protagonists center stage, capturing their motivation, the obstacles they faced, and the lasting change they achieved. The result is a film that communicates both the substance and the human side of a large-scale sustainability effort.
From Concept to Final Cut
During pre-production, we worked closely with the ministry to identify the right protagonists and develop a treatment that would resonate with both specialist and general audiences. Three shooting days in Berlin and Bonn allowed us to capture in-depth interviews and thematic footage in authentic settings. In post-production, motion graphics sequences were added to illustrate key milestones and technical concepts, while professional color grading ensured a consistent, cinematic look throughout. The main film was delivered alongside social media edits, making the content ready for distribution across all relevant channels from day one.
