To honor Germany’s most successful TikTok creators, the Potsdam Palais was transformed into the VERTIES House: a blue carpet for interviews, a themed world behind every door matching each winner category, 100 guests exploring the venue, and our wireless camera crew producing the two-hour live event in portrait format for an audience of millions.
4 Wireless Cameras, Live Directing & Streaming
At the Vertical Video Award Verties 2022, Germany’s most successful TikTok creators were honored in ten categories, with the show streamed exclusively via @dailypie.tv. The indoor and outdoor areas of the Potsdam Palais am Stadthaus were converted into the VERTIES House: around every corner and behind every door, a new, exciting themed world awaited roughly 100 on-site guests.
Interviews took place on the blue carpet, while award ceremonies, show acts, and pranks were staged across themed stages spread throughout the venue. For our partners at Truemates GmbH, we planned and executed the mobile video production and live directing. The result was a two-hour live event in portrait format for an audience of millions.
We deployed four mobile, wireless Easyrig cameras and a directing studio for live mixing of video and audio signals. Crystal-clear transmission quality was just one of the real challenges. Lighting had to be adapted to changing daylight conditions across the two-hour window from 7 to 9 PM — outdoors for the blue carpet interviews and across the varying sets of eleven themed rooms. In the directing studio, all camera feeds were mixed live according to the shot list, combined with motion graphics and inserts. Everything went out as a TikTok stream via the dailypie.tv channel.
